2-Week Wheel Throwing Course
Suitable for beginners and those with some previous experience. 11th & 18th July

Maximum 3 students per class Learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing in a small, supportive class designed to give you plenty of individual guidance and hands-on practice. Whether you’re completely new to the potter’s wheel or looking to refresh and improve your skills, this course provides a relaxed introduction to the throwing process. Week 1 – Throwing on the Wheel Work at your own pace at the wheel and learn the essential techniques needed to throw pots. You’ll be guided through centring clay, opening and pulling walls, and creating simple shapes , working at your own pace with plenty of one-to-one support. Week 2 – Finishing & Glazing Return to finish your pots learning trimming a how to attach handles, make spouts . Understand glazing and various techniques of applying underglazes to complete your pieces Additions information All materials and tools required is included We glaze and fire 4 pieces per person We offer tea, coffee and biscuits during the class. Please bring an apron or wear an old shirt as it can get messy! Nails to be clipped short if possible Closed footwear recommended Please refer to FAQs for cancellation policy

20 days or more before the start date: Full refund minus £5 booking fee Between 20 and 10 days before the start date: 50% refund minus £5 booking fee 9 days or fewer before the start date: No refund Once a course or class has started, no refunds are given. TRANSFERS While bookings are fixed with less than 20 days’ notice (as outlined in the refund policy above), you may transfer your place to a friend or family member before the course or class start date if you are unable to attend. You must inform us of the replacement participant’s name and email address. Once a course has started, bookings cannot be transferred. Course blocks cannot be shared between people. One-Off Taster Sessions only: With 10 days or more notice, we can transfer your booking to an alternative taster session date. 9 days or fewer before the session date: The booking becomes fixed and only a name transfer will be possible.
